Recognizing patterns is a key part of improving your minesweeper gameplay. By understanding common patterns, you can make faster and more accurate decisions. This page will cover some of the most common patterns in minesweeper, and how to use them to your advantage.

Basic Patterns

These patterns are the most fundamental and are the building blocks for more complex patterns.

If a number is touching the same number of unrevelead tiles as it is indicating, all of those tiles are mines.

Here you can see a line of five 1s. We can deduce the top center tile is not a mine, because in order to satisfy the 1s on the far left and far right, the center tile cannot be a mine or else the 1s on the close left and close right would not be satisfied.
